To buy more AI credits in SketchUp, you don’t purchase credits one‑by‑one—instead, you add an AI subscription (add‑on) to your account.
1. Open SketchUp AI (AI Render or AI Assistant).
2. Click Credits in the interface.
3. Click Increase Balance (Note: If you see a 'Send Request' tab instead of 'Increase Balance', it means you're not the account owner. Please see below 'Important things to know- point 2').
4. This opens Trimble’s checkout page in your browser.
5. Complete the purchase.

Important things to know
1) You’re buying a subscription, not individual credits
- The add‑on gives you +1500 AI credits per month
- It auto‑renews monthly until you cancel
2) You must be the subscription owner or company admin with subscription management rights
- ✅If you are the subscription owner, sign in with the owner's email and purchase the AI add-on.
- ✅ If you're a company admin with subscription management rights, you may also be able to manage and purchase add-ons for the account.
- ❌ A regular assigned user who doesn't have ownership/admin rights typically cannot purchase an add-on for the company's subscription.
3) You already get some credits with your plan
Your base SketchUp subscription includes monthly credits:
- Go → 100 credits/month
- Pro → 150 credits/month
- Studio → 200 credits/month
4) Credits reset monthly
- Your balance resets every billing cycle
- Unused credits don’t roll over
5) You can only buy it inside SketchUp
- The AI add‑on cannot be purchased separately on a website
- You must use the in‑app “Increase Balance” button
⚙️ Quick example
If you’re using AI Render or Generate Object heavily:
- Run out of credits → SketchUp prompts you to upgrade
or - Pre‑emptively go to Credits → Increase Balance
👍 Pro tip (to save credits)
- AI Render typically costs ~10 credits per generation
- Generate Object costs ~30 credits per object
So refining your prompts before hitting “Generate” can stretch your credits further.
